Genco were appointed as Principal Contractor to deliver a full refit of the Tesco Temple Belle store, incorporating structural repairs, extensive service upgrades and a complete refurbishment of the sales floor and back-of-house areas.
Following a ceiling collapse prior to the main works, temporary access and trading arrangements were put in place before essential structural strengthening was completed, including the installation of new steelwork and purlins. The works also included new MF ceilings, fire-rated partitions and comprehensive fire-stopping measures.
The wider refurbishment included a full electrical rewire, new flooring and ceilings, upgraded shelving, refrigeration and drainage, replacement external plant and improvements to the shopfront. Back-of-house areas were also fully upgraded, with new colleague facilities, sanitaryware, a kitchen, services, carpentry, wall cladding and Whiterock finishes.
Completed on time and within budget, the project delivered a safe, modern and fully refurbished store, upgraded to meet Tesco’s latest operational and design standards.
