Two-Phase Roofing Refurbishment

Co-op

Genco were appointed to deliver a two-part roofing project at the Co-op Food Store in Pangbourne, comprising a full pitched roof replacement alongside specialist waterproofing works to resolve long-standing water ingress.

The pitched roof was stripped back to rafter level before new Edilians Phalempin Clay Plain Tiles were installed, complete with matching ridge, eave, hip and valley tiles. The works also included a mechanically fixed dry ridge and hip system, hand-pointed verge detailing, Code 4 lead flashings, aluminium soakers, GRP eave trays and new fire breaks.

The second phase focused on the communal roof, where the existing waterproof membrane was thoroughly prepared before the installation of a new Proteus Pro-BW Plus system, providing a fast-curing, hard-wearing waterproof finish. A sealer coat and aggregate were applied to create a skid-inhibiting finish, alongside new GRP trims, Code 4 lead flashings and weathering around guardrail penetrations.

Both phases were carefully planned and completed with minimal disruption to tenants, providing a durable, high-quality roofing solution designed to address the existing issues while delivering a high standard of finish.
